The Heart of the Home: Log Home Kitchens
While you’ve been busy preparing and cooking food in your household kitchen, your household kitchen has been busy transforming into the heart of your home.
Did you ever stop to consider why everyone seems to be mysteriously attracted to the kitchen? From family meetings, chatting with friends, entertaining guests to paying bills and completing homework assignments – there’s no denying the kitchen is the epicenter of your home.
Therefore when designing and building your dream log home, careful thought and consideration must be given to the kitchen. It is quite possible that there are more decisions to be made about your kitchen than all other areas of your future home combined. Your local Timberhaven representative has a comprehensive checklist that will help you get started.
Log Home Kitchens: Be Inspired…
All this talk about kitchens wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t share some of our favorites…
This one is a show-stopper…for sure! The gourmet kitchen includes professional grade appliances, an L-shaped work zone, island with an eat-in area and contrasting custom cabinetry. The triple casement window and heavy timbered ceiling also add to this room’s allure. A chef lives here.
This one is completely different! River Stone is used to create a unique backdrop for these antique-inspired functional appliances. Natural cabinetry blends nicely with the remainder of the White Pine home. Collectors of classic American-made furniture live here.
How about this for a bold statement and creativity? The ‘Roasted Pepper’ cabinets provide a nice, warm contrast to the pine interior. The black granite countertops blend with the black appliances. An artist lives here.
This single-wall galley, or I-shaped kitchen, provides the most functional use of space given this log home’s moderate footprint. Our friends Jack and Bob live here and can’t wait to depict the elements of their one-of-a-kind kitchen for you. Stay tuned.
