New Model Log Home – Hartsville, TN – Part 1
Most log home homeowners will tell you they spent years planning for their project. From the initial phase of clipping photos out of magazines and researching the Internet – to attending log home shows, meeting local reps, and touring log home models. The process that takes much time and energy is as equally rewarding. Even for seasoned log homes dealers who decide to build a new model log home — the professionals helping others achieve their dream homes, working from behind the table at shows and touring guests around their home during an open house – the process is complex yet extremely satisfying.
Mary and Philip Girton just built their new model log home and can attest to these facts.
As representatives for Timberhaven Log & Timber Homes, Mary and Philip have served the Hartsville, TN and surrounding area for over a decade. After becoming empty nesters, the dynamic duo felt the urge to downsize and ultimately built a new Timberhaven model log home.
Mary and Philip’s new 1.5 story model log home is nestled in a bend in the Cumberland River. A very quiet, 5-acre parcel of land called the Girton’s to build their new home. The couple maintained as much of the wooded setting as possible – ultimately their new custom log home perfectly complements their site.
From a design perspective, the new model log home features an open and efficient plan — a staple with many homes today. A loft, cathedral ceiling and modern finishes were other must-haves. “We also incorporated space saving design applications everywhere we could — for easy maintenance, cleaning and accessibility (for Phil…. he’s getting old),” Mary said. Ha!
Over the next few weeks we are going to document the construction of Mary and Philip’s new home. We will explore all aspects of new home construction – from delivery day techniques, design customization, package completeness and flexibility to applying the finishing touches.
We hope you will follow along as we document Hartsville, Tennessee’s newest model log home.
